MainStage Irving/Las Colinas: “Talking Pictures” - Here is a bit of history for ya: the playwright, Horton Foote, wrote plays from the 1940’s to the 2000’s (one of them won a Pulitzer Prize for Drama). He wrote original screenplays in three different decades (one of which won an Academy Award) and a number of screenplays adapted from other media (including the American cinema classic “To Kill a Mockingbird”, which earned him his first Academy Award). Foote was also a leading television writer in the Golden Age of Television (1950’s and 60’s) and has been recognized and awarded for his work there as well. Horton Foote grew up in a small Texas town, and many of his works are set in small rural communities (usually in Texas). This man knew how to tell a good story and you should not miss this opportunity to see a live performance. Watch this story and then GO SEE THE PLAY.
