Puppy Raisers - Families are wanted to raise adorable puppies! Canine Companions for Independence in Irving trains dogs to help people--such as wounded warriors and special needs children. After 18 months with a puppy raiser, the dogs are turned in for advanced training and potential placement. It takes time and patience, but families say they are happy to make a difference.
